Library orientation workshops

Posted by Megan on January 6, 2011

The library is offering several workshops and tours to introduce our collections and services this January. Check the schedule here: http://www.mcgill.ca/library/library-assistance/classes/

Tours
Embark on a tour and find out where to locate all the facilities, services and resources available to you. Tours are led by student navigators and staff members who will guide you through the Library and answer any questions you may have. Tours depart from the Information Desk in the listed branch libraries.

Getting Started
From using the Library catalogue to borrowing books to requesting assistance using our new mobile Library website, all the basics are covered in this helpful workshop. Our friendly staff members are waiting to lead you through the Library’s website—the gateway to all the collections, services and facilities available to you.

Finding the Right Stuff
Go beyond the basics and advance your information-seeking skills by exploring ways to search more effectively. Find the materials you really need and locate relevant journal articles using various resource discovery tools including countless databases. Take this workshop now to save time later on!
