Interactive History Maps from the BBC

The BBC presents a fun Sunday diversion with its new tool called Dimensions. It overlays geographic coordinates from historical events on your choice of a spot on the globe. For example, you can see how space the pyramids of Giza would occupy in your hometown or the range of the gulf oil spill if it was centered in Montreal.
