UN publications go mobile

Posted by Megan on August 3, 2010

This post can go in the “frivolous, but interesting” file.

The UN recently announced that it has produced four texts that are available for purchase from the iPhone/iPad apps store, in order to provide “easy access to offline reading and reference on global issues.” For example, you can get the text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, formatted as an application, for 99 cents.

The site notes that “more titles will be offered as iPhone applications soon. These applications will also be available on iPad and devices and operating systems such as Blackberry, Android and Symbian.”

Other UN-related items can also be found in the Apple apps store, such as the United Nations Study Guide ($1.99).
