Bill C-32 round up

Posted by Megan on June 13, 2010

The Heenan Blaikie Entertainment & Media Law Signal blog has posted a useful round-up of blog posts and statements related to the recent release of Bill C-32 (the Copyright Modernization Act). To reproduce the links:

In terms the implications of the Bill for education, the Canadian Federation of Students also released a member advisory [PDF file] on Bill C-32, concluding that the bill “is a reasonable attempt at creating a balanced Copyright Act, however, it is fundamentally undermined by its blanket protection for digital locks.” The issue of copyright is central to academia in the areas of research, publication, and teaching. More background information, as well as a call to take action, is here on the Federation’s website.
