C-SPAN archives online

Posted by Megan on March 17, 2010

C-SPAN has made the full archive of its broadcasts freely available on its website. The New York Times had a report on March 15 that discusses the importance of this archive for journalists, researchers, and politicians. The archive covers 23 years of history in 160,000 hours of programming. It appears that a lot of work has gone into the indexing of the collection, as it is browseable by date, topic, and program type, and searchable by keyword. Many of the videos also include transcripts.
